Santa Barbara
On our road trip in California the other week we stopped in Santa Barbara and I have to say, we fell in love with the seaside town!
When arrived late in the afternoon and as we freshened up before going out to dinner, the sun was setting over Santa Barbara, beautiful! The picture above was taken from our hotel room balcony!
The beach front is long and beautiful with a sandy beach that is long and leading up to the pier
As you can see from the photo above, there is a walk and rideway for people to enjoy at the back of the beach and a loverly green stretch of grass between that and the road
The picture above is front the beach looking back over to our hotel, on the right side of the picture, with the mountains in the far background. A beautiful place! Simply gorgeous!
On the pier you will find restaurants and gift shops which are very neat!
And in true American style, you can drive down the pier to the end to park and save your legs from walking! This I thought was a bit over the top! My thoughts would be to ban vehicles from using the pier, except for deliveries and emergency access and keep the pier a pedestrian only access.
But with that said, if you ever find yourself headed towards Santa Barbara, make sure that you stop by and visit! You will be so happy you did!

The wonderful cartoon illustration of me above was created by my very close friend, Keelan Parham, while we were both in LAs Vegas the other week!
There is much to do and I will keep you posted as to progress but for now, lots of emails to catch up on after the trip to California and Nevada!

Jet Lag...
It's not fun having jet lag but it is a small price to pay for being able to travel the world!
Yesterday I made a mistake by indicating the wrong position of Alcatraz on my photo, it should have said left and not the right hand side!
Anyway, one thing that surprised me was the sea birds along the coast line of California! They were large and many of them and it was fun to try to and take a picture of them with my camera..
Here is one of the more successful shots..

A song that has been...
This song written by Jon Anderson, he plays it on the video with his acoustic guitar, has been a part of my life for over 30 years and today, still is a real pleasure to listen too. I enjoy the way the lyrics dance around.. the tune is very catchy too!
I hope you like the song if you have never heard it before!

OS4
This month Apple are releasing the updated iOS software...
I will download and update my iPad with it as soon as I can and then I hope to give a brief report on how it goes and what I think of the new iOS 4.2.
It sounds great so I hope that I will be impressed! This shall mean that the iPhone and the iPad will run on the same improved iOS and this will release even greater potential for what the iPad can do!
Exciting times and precious days that we live in....

Fly away!
Today I am on a plane heading to San Francisco!
This current trip is combining a road trip that my wife and I have been wanting to do for sometime now and also in the middle, we are attending the ISCA convention, that is taking place in Las Vegas.
We shall be surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the world! We will also be meeting up with many friends in Las Vegas and that will be awesome!
While we are away we have the decorators in the house, finishing off the kitchen remodelling project! My parents are also going to be stopping by the house everyday so we can relax, knowing that our home will be safe while we are away!
So today we shall be driving from San Francisco to Fairfield for an over night stay before we start our journey towards Lake Tahoe, Virginia City and then Reno!
I was in this area back in 2007 but on that trip my wife was unable to join me, so she missed the sights of the area around Lake Tahoe.
But tomorrow I will be able to take her there and show her the beauty of the place!
We are very excited about this trip!

Music?
What music do I like?
I have a wide range of music tastes but one genre I enjoy and love is Country!
Country music has a mix of great tunes and lyrics that address life in a realistic honesty. I love listening!
How do I listen?
Well I have some country selections in my iTunes but I also listen to Country radio via iTunes and sometimes also through a radio stations website, where you can listen to a show live!
One such station is 106.5 WYRK
There are many others out there and I mean many! What I like about streaming a live show from a website, is that I can get a feel for the news on that station and also the adverts that play! I also enjoy the american smooth accent that plays so well over the radio! It is fun and interesting and as you may know if your a regular follower of this blog, I love America and always enjoy being out there when ever I can make it over the pond!
So, do you like Country? What do you like? Why not let me know by posting a comment below and even better, add me to you iTunes PING and lets have fun seeing what we like via this cool new feature!
My PING is Steve Hearn of course, do please add me!

At a wedding fair
Yesterday I had a stand at a wedding fair. This is an event that a venue holds to showcase wedding suppliers to couples who are planning their wedding.
Above you can see my display that I had set up at the fair. It was a success although the enquiries that I received were for dates that have already been booked out. A little frustrating but you can never tell how a wedding fair will turn out until the very last moment.
Here is a close up of the example caricature that I had displayed on my easel, which you can see sitting on top of the table in the picture above, taken with my iPhone so apologies if the picture is below par:
This example is a typical caricature that I draw at a wedding when I am there entertaining. It usually receives a warm welcome and with lots of laughter!
