Art is not only about allowing the viewer to enjoy what they see, art gives expression to the artist who has something to say.
Last week a real tragedy happened in the USA, one of the artists working for Caricature Connection was killed in a small airplane crash.
Michele Nichols was a young woman with an exciting career ahead of her. She worked as a lead artist for Caricature Connection in Orlando. Michele spent many hours drawing guests in Walt Disney World and added something very special to peoples vacations, with a caricature drawn by her.
Caricature Connection is a company run by my good friends Keelan and Barbie and this is a very difficult time for them as well as the other artists who work with them and who had worked with and alongside Michele.
Black is a colour that clearly represents how many of us feel at the moment. When we lose a fellow colleague it affects us all.
I do not recall meeting Michele myself although I think I may have spoken to her in Animal Kingdom one time, but I know that the artists working with Caricature Connection are all like a real big family. So Michele's death is a huge loss to everyone there.
So today I have Michele in my thought's as well as her family and of course, everyone at Caricature Connection.
I am like a second cousin to everyone there as I have had the privilege to be a guest artist and draw with them on a number of occasions in Orlando at Walt Disney World.
Michele was a Christian, as many of her fellow artists are and as I am myself, so we have hope and a faith that can help us get through the difficult days ahead.
Please stop by Keelan's blog here and Kenny's blog here to read about Michele and how wonderful she was.
God Bless Michele, draw some big noses up there in heaven.
