Caricature Steps

Here is a short overview of my steps to create a digital caricature. (Click on the images to view full size)

Step 1 - Rough pencil sketch that is then scanned into photoshop: see image below:-

Step 2 - I create a layer on top and the rough sketch layer has it's OPACITY level set to 50%

Step 3 - I then draw using my Wacom Intuos3 A4 tablet on the layer on top of the rough sketch:

Step 4 - Once the line work is how I want it, I delete the rough sketch layer

Step 5 - I may add a new layer underneath the linework to add in shading or background effect as you can see on this project

Step 6 - I flattern the image and save as high resolution jpg files, set at 300dpi with one at the A4 size and then another resized to around 500 pixels wide so that it can be used on the web for facebook or other various websites that we all seem to be on these days!
