Q & A

Question: How do you get work?

Answer: Well this is more of a business question but some of you reading this blog may be asking yourself how can you get work for your own business, wether it is art or widgets you may be selling.

The key avenue for enquiries to come in on is the internet.

So you must have a website.

Promoting and getting people to visit is the challenge though.

Submit your site to the search engines. Always use your website address in your promotional materials as well as email signature and any online forums you may belong too.

Spend time on the internet pretending your the customer looking for your service, ask yourself how you go about finding the information you need as a customer. Did you use a search engine, if so what key words provided the results to the right websites... etc etc etc.. do this and take note of your findings as a customer and then ask yourself if your website and web presence works to fit your findings about a customer looking for your service online.

Search in google for tips and advice about web presence as there are many resources out there that are interesting, informative and can give you help to give you the results you need!

Thanks to everyone who has asked me this question over the last 5 years!

Thanks for that Steve. I guess there are good tips in there for any venture, not just the business type.
